Alicia Lane-Outlaw to Promote Greater Equality and Accessibility as MADC President
ST. LOUIS PARK, MN (July 30, 2009) – Alicia Lane-Outlaw, Creative Director for AllOut Marketing, was elected President of the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens (MADC), a state affiliate of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). Lane-Outlaw will be the fourth woman president since MADC’s establishment nearly 125 years ago.
“Minnesota has over 80 organizations serving the Deaf community. My vision as president is for MADC to foster greater collaboration among these diverse organizations and groups,” says Lane-Outlaw. “Together, we can promote greater equality in areas such as legislation and access to healthcare and technology.”
Alicia Lane-Outlaw, a passionate Deaf/Hard of Hearing advocate, received the Petra F. Howard Achievement Award at the recent 58th Biennial Conference for the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens (MADC). She also leads the award-winning team for TCDeaf.com, which publishes weekly news and events for the Twin Cities signing community.
Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens was established in 1885 and is a non-profit, 501(c)(4) organization. The mission of MADC is to preserve, protect, and promote political, educational, economic, and social equality for signing Deaf Minnesotans.
